mudbrick venue review

By a wedding photographer

You guys I absolutely love love LOVE shooting at Mudbrick and I’m here to break down to you the 5 reasons why.

First things first here is some informative things you will need to know about the venue:

Mudbrick is located on Waiheke Island, a short ferry ride from Auckland then a quick taxi 5 minute from the Matiatia ferry terminal. Mudbrick can accommodate up to 126 guests for a seated reception in their restaurant which is only a short stroll down the hill from the private lodge where all their wedding ceremonies are held.

1.Location

Mudbrick offers stunning panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf and the Auckland skyline with all wedding ceremonies held at the private lodge on top of the hill. This is a west facing elevated venue which means its always got BANGER SUNSETS. There are so many locations for photos at this venue there really is something for everyone. Fields, hilltops, horses, vines, gravel roads, architecture, rustic gardens, brick staircases, it’s all very chic and fabulous and clean and timeless.

2. Getting Ready

The lodge is equipped with three bedrooms, with two on opposite sides of the venue so it fits perfect for brides and grooms getting ready without having to see each other before the ceremony. The décor is simple & elegant with classic charm and you guessed it, lots of lovely light in these rooms too. Getting ready here is simple, stress free and it photographs beautifully.

3.Wet Weather Option

Mudbrick has an excellent wet weather option and every time I shoot there, I’m always surprised by how much this venue absolutely serves on a rainy day. The meadow located inside the lodge is the perfect alternate for when the weather doesn't cooperate. The indoor area features floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the surrounding scenery and the light inside the ceremony area is gorgeous. Once your guests have gone down the hill, you have full reign over the lodge for portraits in its cute hallways, windows, sofas and even behind the lodge is stunning.

4. Amazing kai

Mudbrick is known for its outstanding culinary offerings, and the venue's wedding menus are no exception. The venue offers a range of delicious and locally sourced food, including canapes, shared platters, and plated menus. Mudbrick also has an extensive wine list that includes a selection of their own award-winning wines. Your guests will be stoked and so will your vendors.

5.Look and Feel

The look and feel of Mudbrick is elegant, sophisticated, and luxurious. The venue has a Mediterranean-inspired design with beautiful gardens and vineyards that provide a romantic and intimate setting for weddings. The architecture features a combination of stone, wood, and glass, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Mudbrick really is a special and versatile wedding venue that can accommodate the unpredictable Auckland weather all the while suiting a wide range of wedding styles and preferences. The venue's preferred vendors and premium status make it an ideal choice for couples looking for a high-end, exclusive wedding experience.

Its a 10/10 from me
